Cannot see files in AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel

That Excel directory shows 2.2 GB in the properties. Using Spacesniffer I see there are many files in there however, when I click on the directory, I only see the XLSTART folder and Excel15.xlb. I'm logged in as Admin and I've selected "show hidden files". Is there a way I can see these files and delete them?

    Hi ohnow,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for sharing your concern with us today.

I understand that you want to see another document. I am glad to offer you help on this issue.

Spacesniffer which is a data recovery software is used to find past deleted files and existing files that may not have been completely deleted. All you're

likely to remove is the Excel tag, which has residual files that won't be removed until you overwrite the installation. The other files are not in this folder.

Therefore, you just see the XLSTART folder and Excel15.xlb when you are in AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel.

I hope the information provided is useful for you. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support.

    Best Regard,

Kevin | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
