Excel on iPad - subscription not found

Delighted to report I am paying for an Excel subscription which is not accessible on my iPad.

When I try to sign in, I get a message saying no subscription has been found.

I have double checked that I am indeed subscribing (in my AppStore purchases and subscription) and I have also tried to delete my login details on my iPad settings (Settings/Excel/Reset Excel/Delete Sign-in credentials): none worked.

Any thoughts on how to fix?

It should be noted that it works fine on my laptop and phone (both Apple).

Thank you!

    Hi AlyDQ,

Based on the support article, the Office apps available from the Mac App Store require a Microsoft 365 subscription to activate. Excel is not available separately; it is a bundled product that comes with Microsoft 365.

As you mentioned, you paid £60 to buy Excel from App store, I believe you must have paid for Microsoft 365 Personal (12-Month Subscription).

With a subscription to Microsoft 365, you can get:

    • The latest Office apps, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • The ability to install on 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets, and 5 phones.
    • 1 TB of OneDrive cloud storage.
    • Feature updates and upgrades

As you mentioned, it is not working on iPad, please provide us with the following information:

    1. To avoid any confusion, could you please confirm which subscription you are using?
    2. A screenshot of the error you are receiving on iPad.
    3. Please check if you can use other Office apps such as Word and Excel on iPad.
    4. iPad version?

    Regards,

    Neha

There is no excel sub, there is an Office 365 sub

If you have Office 365 then on the iPad you access the App Store to install Excel, associated with your MS Account

Thank you! So would you happen to know what the Apple charge of £60 for Excel is for by any chance?

    Hi,

Again Excel works on my laptop without me having to sign in each time (I must have clicked on an option that keeps me logged in) but I cannot make it work on my iPad.

I use an iPad Pro 3rd generation; currently on the 14.7.1 version (software).

I remember subscribing to it (and paying each year!) very clearly.

As mentioned, it works fine on my MacBook (I am obviously the same Apple ID on my iPad).

    Thank you
