Sharepoint Links Changing

Hello, reposting this question as nobody's been able to help so far:

When trying to add a link to SharePoint, it automatically changes a part of the url to"share".

I'm trying to link to an address like (https://xxxxx.mywebsite.com), but after I verify the link and confirm my changes, it changes the url to (https://xxxx.mywebsite.com) which obviously doesn't exist.

Is there any way to stop this from happening? And why would this happen in the first place?
