Hello,

I'm using the latest version of Sharepoint and I'm unable to adjust the settings of a Multiple Lines of Text column so that it will allow more than 255 characters. I do not see any options to adjust the number of characters or to allow unlimited length in document libraries. Are there any workarounds?

    Hello Peter,

From the additional screenshot shared, it seems you are creating Multiple lines of text columns in the SharePoint Online list. So, when I check the behavior at my end, I also have the same result as your end. Based on my further finding, a SharePoint Multiple lines of text column can store up to 63,999 characters and I also tested with more than 5000 characters, I can save the list item without any problem.

So, you no need to enable any option to save more than 255 characters in Multiple lines of the text column.

    Best Regards,

    Chitrahaas

    Hello Peter,

You can directly use Modern Interface to create Multiple lines of text column and select the option Allow unlimited length in document librariesç

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm afraid I don't have that option, perhaps it's disabled? Any other workarounds that you know of? See screenshot below:

Thank you! It ended up being an oversight on my end. The column that was actually creating the error in my flow was a Single Line of Text. I just changed it to Multiple Lines of Text.

    Best,

    Pete
