Hi Rena. I have the same issue. I don't understand what to do for the first step?

  1. Go to remove folders in this path, ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.OneDrive-mac/Data/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.OneDrive-mac.plist, then see the result.

So far, I uninstalled and reinstalled oneDrive and followed this steps

To reset OneDrive on a Mac

  1. Quit OneDrive. ...
  2. Find OneDrive in your Applications folder.
  3. Right-click OneDrive and select Show Package Contents.
  4. Browse to the Contents > Resources folder.
  5. Double-click ResetOneDriveApp. ...
  6. Start OneDrive and finish the setup process. Thank you,

Feruza

Problem solved when a new software update for Monterey 12.2 was automatically installed. The OneDrive folder appeared in Finder under Locations. I doubt this software update was an intentional "fix" for the problem, but I'm very happy it did fix it.

Thank you for your response, and I'm glad it wasn't necessary.

    Hi FeruzaK,

Thank you for querying in this forum.

We noticed that you reply has been split as new thread, and we will also try our best to help you.

We checked your reply, it seems that you encountered the same issue with original poster and you cannot open OneDrive sync client which is downloaded from standalone version, and you encountered an error message, and this issue doesn’t occur with app store version.

May I know if my understanding is right? If so, for the situation you encountered, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

And we have also tested it on our side with the standard alone OneDrive client version, and we can open it without any problem.

And for your concerns about the first steps, this suggestion is to delete the cache file of OneDrive client, we noticed that you have tried reinstalling OneDrive and resetting OneDrive, but the same problem still persists.

If so, on the one hand, we’d suggest you go to Office 365 portal > click OneDrive to check if you can access OneDrive for web successfully.

On the other hand, if you can access OneDrive for web, we’d also suggest you try the suggestion Rena provided above to remove cache folder to check if the same problem will occur.

You can also try creating a new user profile on Mac to check if the same problem will occur.

At the same time, to better understand your situation, could you also provide the information below?

    1. May I know if you can access OneDrive for web?
    2. Could you provide the version of Mac OS?
    3. May I know if you encountered the same error message as original poster’s? Could you provide the screenshot of error message?

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Best Regards,

    Sukie
