Dropdown not working

Hi, I am trying to create a word document with a dropdown list. I have the DEVELOPER tab activated, but when I try to activate protect mode and see if it works, none of the options I wrote in properties appear and neither the options of selections are available. I don't understand what I did wrong. If someone can help me correct this, that would be very nice. Thank you.

Press Alt+F9 to show field codes and re-display field results, including form fields. You can then set properties for your control if you use the Propriétés button on the Développeur tab (icon labels from your screen shot).

Thank you so much. I now see the first option in the dropdown menu, but the arrow to choose my other options is not appearing. Did I once again do or press on something I should not have ? (here below is a print screen for which drop down menu I have selected)

You have to click in the inserted form field and then use the Properties button to set properties for the field.
