Excel cell position

This has happened often and I don't know how to fix it. When I arrange the cell position to be at the bottom, it goes to the top; when I click on top, it stays there; when I click on middle, it goes to the bottom. I have made sure that there are no extra spaces after the digits or text, but to no avail. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I appreciate any help that anyone can give me. Thanks!

    Hi

My name is André. I am an independent consultant.

If you access excel via safe mode, open your file or create a new one, does the same error happen?

Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key + R. ...

Once the Run window opens, type:

excel /safe in the input box next to 'Open'.

Press the Return key or click OK

Answer here so I can continue helping you.

    André.

Thanks so much! Yes, my rows are pretty narrow, so that might be the problem. I also like your idea of beating it at its own game - up for down and down for up! 😂

I believe this is a quirk of Excel and I'm not aware of a fix. It occurs when the row height is a little small. If you increase the row height , you will see that positioning works. Alternatively, you just live with the idiosyncrasy and use up for down and down for up!
