Math in OneNote

One note never ceases to amaze me. So if they can do the following, WOW. But if not, oh well.

See image:

I know this can be done in Excel. I have never tried to accomplish something like this in OneNote Desktop 365 Officed. There might be some kind of entanglement involved here in order to accomplish the issue.

List Price divided by Unit Quantity equals List Each (Rounded to two decimal points)

Note:

I also would like to have the columns formatted similar to what we do in Excel

List Price column would equal the Dollar Sign $

Sale Each column would equal two decimal places ($1.419 would be $1.42)

I'm not asking for much but as I said OneNote never ceases to amaze me.

    Hi Amerifax

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Community.

We will do our best to help you.

According to the category Microsoft 365 and Office / OneNote you posted, we can tell that your question is "Want to create a table in Onenote and do related math." Feel free to correct me if my understanding is wrong. I can understand that it is frustrated at times that something goes wrong, and the fact that it has not been resolved is troubling.

We can understand your mood. Generally speaking, after the Onenote table is created, you can perform simple formula calculations in the table. According to the official instructions, some simple mathematical formulas are currently supported. Click here for detail information .

However, Onenote is not an application dedicated to processing data after all. If you need to perform cross-cell calculations in Onenote, you may still need to use professional tools. Excel is an app suitable for working with cross-cell data, you can try inserting an Excel spreadsheet in Onenote instead. And related calculations can be done better in Excel.

I hope this helps you and kindly remind you to wear a mask when traveling during the Covid-19 global pandemic
