Exactly what seps are you taking to save the file? There are 3 common methods:
- Click the Save tool on the Quick Access Toolbar,
- Go to File> Save in the main menu,
- Use the keyboard shortcut Command+S
Neither should cause the document wwindow to close.
Normal behavior is that the document window does remain open unless you Close the document window or Quit the program.
Even if you do accidentally close the file you shouldn't have to ",,,hunt the file down again." It should be at the top of the File> Open Recent list. Just select it from there in order to reopen it,
