I have a list with some custom fields and a view grouped per Author. When the view is accessed it shows the not expanded groups, once one is expanded sometimes randomly it shows the wrong data:

As shown, expanding the Klaus group, Lisas items are shown.

SharePoint version: 16.0.5278.1000

Hi, thanks for the quick answer.

As you can see from the posted SharePoint version, I am not working on the Online, but OnPremise.

For developing I use Chrome, for the businness my company uses Edge. The problem is present on both browsers which in my opinion is obvious, since both are built on Chromium.

In the debugging console I can see the call to the server is the following:

    http://portal/mySite/_layouts/15/inplview.aspx?List={E81DCCD3-8E12-45BC-BF9C-610E48CFF94D}&View={84514658-A9E9-4F23-86D2-8C2042BA4E07}&ViewCount=254&IsXslView=TRUE&IsCSR=TRUE&ListViewPageUrl=http://portal/mySite/Lists/myList/AllItems.aspx&IsRibbon=TRUE&Cmd=EcbView&GroupString=;#***** Klaus;#&IsGroupRender=TRUE&WebPartID={84514658-A9E9-4F23-86D2-8C2042BA4E07}&DrillDown=1

Sometimes it works as expected, sometimes I got an error (the call is canceled), another call is made without user interact:

The new created call contains the wrong filter parameter, which is the filter parameter of the previous call.

I tested it also on another list, same problem.

    Best regards,

    Emanuel

    Hi

Thank you for posting the thread on our forum.

Based on your description, it seems that the group view was expanded in list, the data will show not correctly in SharePoint. (If my understanding is incorrect, please feel free to post back)

Since you post the thread in our business sharepoint category, so we'll handle the question as sharepoint online .

Please try to change a different browser or use inprivate window to see if the data will show correctly.

Try to create a new list then add the view group to check if the same problem will happen again.

Since you 're using the group by view, try to click the Group by to uncheck this option to use the normal view to check if the data will show directly in the list.

We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial suggestions may not resolve the problem very soon. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. So, Please kindly provide more information below to let us work further.

    • Is just the specific list have the problem or other list all have this problem?
    • if other users in your organization have the same issue in this list like yours?

Hope the suggestion can help you. And if there have any unclear or misunderstanding, please feel free to post back and we’ll continue to help you all the time!

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated! Hope you have a good day and keep safe!

    Best regards,

    Stacey
