Delay in sync as Microsoft excel spreadsheet link to CAD software

When I tried to save the excel to reflect the changes in parameter on CAD software, the link was lost, needs some time to update. Is there a way to fix this or make it offline as a workaround while updating the copy online in the background? I don't have any problem if I transfer the files on my desktop, but we are permitted as files always keep at the SharePoint/OneDrive

    Dear John,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in the Microsoft forum.

When you say “Is there a way to fix this or make it offline as a workaround while updating the copy online in the background?”, do you mean making Excel offline while links are updated? If this is what you are trying to do, you can turn off AutoSave while the link is updated in AutoCAD.

Further, please ensure your Microsoft 365 apps are fully updated, sometimes updating Office fixes issues. To check version information, open any Office app, such as Excel or Word, click File>Account, and check for the info mentioned under Product Information. The latest version of the Current channel is Version 2206 (Build 15330.20264). For other channel version info, see Update history for Microsoft 365 Apps (listed by date).

If the version is not updated as mentioned in the article, please install updates and check if the issue remains. To know how to install updates, see Install Office updates.

Since AutoCAD is a third-party service, we don’t have much information about it’s environment, so could you please provide us with detailed information on how Excel is linked and if you are getting any sync errors?

We will look forward to your reply. Stay safe and stay healthy.

    Sincerely,
