Need help syncing a shared folder from an outside organization I have guest user access to.

I have been sent a shared folder from an outside organization that I have editing access to. I can open it up on the web, but a coworker from my same organization has been able to sync this same shared folder while I cannot. I asked for the sender to allow me guest access to their organization via Azure AD per this article/question: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/cannot-find-sync-button-with-folders-shared-by/e7addf42-23f4-4434-9b8c-94c1c33a2f48 and have been granted guest access on the sender's organization.

But alas, I still cannot sync this shared folder. Also, when opening this shared folder, I am routed to a separate microsoft 365 account manager that is not the one for my organization.

Would appreciate any help in this matter.

Regards,

Justin

    Dear Justin,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have an issue on cannot sync shared folder from different organization.

You mentioned that your UPN has been added as B2B guess account in their Azure Active Directory.

Kindly share with us the information below:

May I know if you accepted the invitation?

What account sign on in your OneDrive sync application?

    Suggestions:

Possible reason is that it is caching the other account that is why you cannot sync it.

Kindly open the link of shared folder on in-private browsing or incognito mode. Sign in your Work account/UPN from your organization, the one added as guess account in AAD.

Once sign in and you can access the folder, click on sync button, OneDrive popup then click on Microsoft OneDrive application.

Kindly double check your OneDrive if your work account/UPN is log in. Open OneDrive settings > Account tab.

Hope the suggestion can help you.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation. Stay safe and healthy always.

    Sincerely,
