Good day

we have activated the feature "SendFromAliasEnabled" for this tenant in order to be able to send from alias addresses.

In Outlook Web App, this also works without any problems.

Unfortunately, not in Outlook 2019 for Windows. We have displayed the "From" field and wanted to send from an alias, but after entering the alias address and then clicking OK, nothing happens. The primary e-mail address remains in the "From" field. What could be the reason?

Since we use Outlook in online mode and not in cache mode, the button to download address book is not displayed with me. I therefore switched Outlook to cache mode once as a test and downloaded the address book -> here the "send from another e-mail address" function now works as it should.

As soon as I switch back to online mode, I see already entered e-mail addresses in the selection list, but again I can not add new addresses, so this seems to be only possible in cache mode and not in online mode.

Is there a solution so that the addition of additional "From" e-mail addresses is also possible in online mode? Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to switch all users to cache mode due to storage space.

    1. Did you try Updating your Global Address list? If not please try out these steps below and check if it makes any difference:
To make sure that all changes to the main Global Address List are shown on your device and everything is in sync:

On the tab titled Send/Receive, locate Download Address Book… in Send/Receive Groups optionslist. It is essential that the Download changes since last Send/Receive in Offline Address Book is ticked. Complete the procedure by pressing OK.
