Why wont the slicer options custom sort in a pivot table?

Hello

i'm trying to custom sort a pivot table slicer. I only have these options. I do not have the option to custom sort. I'm using excel 2019.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Microsoft 365 and Office | Excel | For home | Other

    Is your data coming from Power Query? I have found that if I build a slicer based on data coming from Power Query then I do not see Custom sort option.

    I see this if I use the data available directly in Excel.
