Add Rows to a table protected table without VBA

I am using the newest excel and trying to create a password protected sheet so the formulas are not damaged. However I can not add to a table row if the sheet is protected. All the fixes I have seen so far have been to use VBA, but thats not an option when sharing an excel file with OneDrive. It seems my current options are:

  1. Don't protect the sheet, which would leave it Vulnerable to having cells easily altered.
  2. Just make a table with like 1000 lines in it to start with. and add IF statements so the Formulas don't show up if blank.

am I missing something?

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for posting in the community.

According to your description, you want to add row to a protected sheet. Generally, you should be able to tick the option “Insert rows” to allow users to insert rows when protecting the sheet.

    For your reference:

The issue is, it wont add a Table Row, which would copy down any formulas I am using.

    Hi Jason,

Usually to insert a row I would right-click and choose Insert > Entire Row. When worksheet protection is turned on, this option is not available within an Excel Table even when the setting to allow Insert Rows is checked.

However, it seems that using the menu bar Insert > Rows feature does work in this scenario.
