Hi all!

I would like a system where;

A person fills out a webbased form (similar to google forms), that is saved on OneDrive.
That information is the grabbed by an Excel Sheet that auto updates on each opening of the file.

Is this possible within the microsoft ecosystem?

I've found the form tool in excel, but i want something more customer facing and easy to use.

    Hi RedlandCommunityCentre,

First, my pleasure to assist you.

As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

Since, you mentioned, “A person fills out a webbased form (similar to google forms), that is saved on OneDrive.” Here is my suggestion. You may create a Microsoft Form (Use Microsoft Forms to collect data into your Excel file) in OneDrive via press the new menu and select Forms for Excel. And you'll see the latest updates each time you click Open in Excel or re-open the workbook and Import data from a Microsoft Form into Excel Automatically.

For reference: Create a form with Microsoft Forms

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Best regards

    Waqas Muhammad

This works almost perfectly! Well enough as it is, however..

Is it possible to have it populate the same file, either through onedrive or locally?
My end goal is to automate a mailmerge from collected data.

    Hi RedlandCommunityCentre,

Thanks for your valuable feedback, glad to know that my replies helped you. Comments and feedback from our customers really motivate us to perform better and better and provided as much help as possible.

    I appreciate your kind words.

Regarding to, "Is it possible to have it populate the same file, either through onedrive or locally?" if you click on "Open in desktop app" from Excel online it will open Excel synced file local client app. Or if you sync your OneDrive to your machine/pc and you can open your Excel file from locally sync OneDrive folder.

If there is any issue related with the Office applications in the future, please feel free to post back in this community.

We will be here for help.

Have a good day and stay safe 😊

    Best Regards,

    Waqas Muhammad
