I own MS office 2019. MAC OS updated my MS OFFICE 2019 and now I'm unable to save documents.

Although signed in, clicking the activate button does nothing. Does this mean I need to buy the newest version of the software to finish my work this evening? Is there a way to downgrade? Is there a glitch in the MS system? Help!

Thank you for your response, John. I do not have a Microsft 365 subscription/membership as noted above. I own MS office 2019 for the mac. I was, however, able to resolve this issue after much searching/reading.

For those in a similar predicament, you must download and run the Microsoft "license removal tool" for Mac OS. Once this tool has done its magic, re-launch any one of the office products (MS word in my case), login to your Microsoft account where your license is located, and at this point, you will be prompted with a list of all your licenses, select the appropriate license and bingo- back in business.

Hi. Thank you for your question and reaching out. My name is John and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

I am sorry to know that. Please make sure that the correct account is signed in to your Office. If you purchased Office using a different email address, please try logging in using all of your personal email addresses. You might need to use your work or school account to log in if you're at work or school rather than your personal email address.

Log in to Services & subscriptions to see if Office is linked to your Microsoft account. There ought to be a listing for your Microsoft 365 membership or Office product. Your email address won't function to sign in to Office if it isn't.

    Best regards, John
