Password problem when refreshing an excel worksheet

Hi,

I have an imported Access file to excel. When I try to refresh a worksheet, a popup window asks for a password for the Access file source. I did not set up any password for the imported Access file, so what should I do in this case.

Thank you

    Hi Sheeloo and Chandy,

    Thank you for your answers.

I imported the file by using"Get Data" from "Access". Access file is imported daily from a private web source.

Here's the screenshot for the prompt I get.

    Hi maysak

Thank you for choosing our Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, don't worry, we can work together to get closer to the answer.

From the Excel category you posted, we know your problem is "Prompt for password when importing Access data via Excel". Please feel free to correct me if my understanding is wrong. I know that sometimes troubleshooting can take a while and the fact that the problem has not been resolved can be frustrating.

We can fully understand how you feel. Generally speaking, this can be a problem with data references between different workbooks. For example, the Access data source currently imported into Excel has data referenced to other workbooks with passwords, and the update requires input permissions. If that's convenient for you, try creating a new Access database without references to other sheets. Then import into Excel and see if the update requires a password.

If there is any update, please feel free to contact us.

How did you 'import' the file?

Please share the screenshot of the password prompt.

I used Power Query to import a table and I can refresh without any prompt.
