Hi I have multiple Microsoft 365 accounts on my computer. Things had been working fine but recently I'm starting to receive an error message in Excel that uploads are blocked. I've tried resolving the identities but can't figure out how to get rid of the message. Hoping to get some help here.

The selected account matches the file I'm trying to access in onedrive

    Hi c-2806,

Thank you for posting to community forum.

Per your description you are facing an issue with “UPLOAD BLOCKED We couldn't verify you have the necessary permissions to upload the file." Error message when working with Excel file from your OneDrive.

At first please check the following article and try the provided suggestions:

Office 365 (Upload blocked) error when syncing between different tenants in OneDrive - SharePoint | Microsoft Docs

Try to use same Microsoft account in Windows login, Microsoft Office and One Drive.

If the issue still remains, your account linked to OneDrive may be corrupted. In this case, please follow the steps below:

    1. Restart your OneDrive client, then unlink your account and sign in again (Right-click the OneDrive cloud icon in the task bar area > select Settings > Account > Unlink this PC > sign in).
    2. Go to task bar and find the OneDrive cloud icon > Right-click the OneDrive cloud icon and select Settings > Under Office tab, un-check “Use Office to sync files I open” > Click OK.

If the error still exists, please share the following information with us:

    • Is this the first time that you’ll encounter this issue? If so, did you make any changes prior to this concern?
    • Open a file in desktop app from OneDrive and check if the issue occurs.
    • Go to OneDrive online to confirm if the files have been synced.
    • Does the same issue appear in other Office applications?

    Regards,

    Igor
