Assign tasks to a M365 group task list
Note 1 we are not going to use planner, do not suggest this application.
Note 2 we are not using ToDo, do not suggest this application.
Note 3 if the Task app/list in Teams can integrate with Outlook/shapepoint tasks, we can use that.
BLUF: I want to assign tasks to a M365 group task list via a OneNote notebook in that M365 group, and from one M365 group task list, to another M365 group task list.
I have created a M365 group as a collaboration space for a monthly brief. In the Sharepoint site, I have activated the "Project Functionality: This feature adds project management functionality to a site. It includes tasks, a calendar, and web parts on the home page of the site." from the "manage site features" section of Site Actions under Site Settings.
I have also done this for a department code with the same features enabled.
I have also connected both sharepoint pages with my outlook takss.
As you can see here, the tasks I create in Outlook for the NNSY_Facility group show up fine in my NNSY_Facility Outlook task group, and the M365 NNSY_Facility sharepoint tasks list.
As you can see here, the tasks I create in Outlook for the NNSY_C985 group do not show up in their my NNSY_C985 Outlook Task Group, or the M365 NNSY_C985 sharepoint task list.
Also If I create a task from the NNSY_Facility sharepoint task list, it will not show up in the NNSY_C985 sharepoint task list.
How can I have a task from one M365 group show up in another M365 task list?
How can I have a task from OneNote inside M365 group show up in that M365 groups task list?

2022-10-18T20:26:49+00:00 Hello GauntletKI
I'm Diane, a Microsoft 365 Apps & Services MVP and I'll try to help you today.
Is the C985 group email enabled?
Are you the Microsoft 365 administrator? Check the message trace to see what happened to it. If you aren't the admin, the admin will need to check it for you.

2022-10-19T13:18:07+00:00 I am not an M365 Admin and getting them will be very difficult.
The C985 group was created through outlook via New Group
And as you can see the email the email address for that group is already taken by the M365 group I made.
So I would assume it is email enabled, but maybe I am incorrect in that assumption.
now there is a slight difference between NNSY_Facility group and NNSY_C985. After I made both M365 groups off of Outlook, I connected the NNSY_C985 group with a MS Team.
If I were to send assign a task from Tasks in My Tasks, to either M365 Group, I get that it sends Outlook is sending it to the people inside the group:
Now I can make a Task in My Tasks
and copy them to either of the M365 task lists.
and yesterday when I made tasks in Outlook, they showed up in the M365 Group SharePoint Task list.
...which it is not showing up today...
...why do I not have permission to my SharePoint list today...

2022-10-19T13:25:00+00:00 Now what I want to get to is a state where my PowerPoint is printed out into OneNote and I can assign outlook tasks from there, to the groups task lists.
It will show up in my personal task list
but I can not seem to assign it to the groups task list
which I want it to go to the list, and not the individuals unless specified.

2022-10-21T12:57:59+00:00 In interesting thing I saw today, is my List desktop app.
Now when I went in to view the Tast list I made for NNSY_Facility (not NNSY_Facilities), I see that the Task List is not there, but my Issues list is.
The reason this is wild, is that when I first went into the SharePoint page for the M365 NNSY_Facility group, under site actions
I actually 'activated' Project Web App Connectivity Site Feature.
You can see the result to my site content
and they remain even after I 'deactivated' Project Web App Connectivity Site Feature.
So without creating a Team (if I do not have too) for the M365 NNSY_Facility group, will this Project Web App Connectivity Issues List, do what I need.
but It seems that I cannot connect this issues task list to my outlook, task list.
Gosh why did MSFT have to go and mess up their task management system...must have been an intern.
