Forms and sync

So my form has been telling me to create a new Workbook for about 10390138 times.

Found this thread and it says:

Generally, if a form is created from Forms on the Web, then we can only get workbook each time via clicking the 'Open in Excel' button and can NOT sync with new responses. While forms created in OneDrive or Excel for the Web will be able to sync latest updates in that workbook.

The reason is mainly because if you want to use the sync feature, it has to be connected with some cloud storage service to save the workbook. Hence, forms created in OneDrive or Excel for the web will make a workbook connected with the form and save it in your OneDrive storage place and update the data in there automatically.

Can someone please help me understand? I created mine in a Teams group. I dont want it to create new workbooks all the time, So how can i do this with a form in Teams?

    Hi,

Yes it tells me to sync all responses to a new workbook ( but not all is always there)

The info is in the forms but not in the workbook. Have had several tickets with MS Support and no luck. Their solution is to Create a new workbook and to take the info from the Form. That is it.

    Dear Paradis,

    Thanks for posting back.

For "since it tells me to create a new workbook", are you referring to the option "Sync all responses to a new workbook" as below screenshot shown? If not, please provide a full screenshot of the error message.

Normally, the workbook should contain all responses. Since you mentioned some responses are missing in the workbook and you don't want to use a new workbook, I would like to suggest you raise a support ticket via Microsoft 365 Admin Center> Support> New service request. That support team there will have the correct channel to help you investigate more and find what exactly reason has caused this situation in the backend.

    Appreciate your understanding and patience.

    Sincerely,

    Hi,

So I created the Forms in a Teams group. And I am still in the group. It looks like this

So we have it in Sharepoint. But the sync is not always working since it tells me to create a new workbook ( which i rather not do since i have tabs in my current one I would like to keep)
And some rows is missing? All answers is there in the form but not in the excel, Id 160 and 165 for example is missing. What is wrong with the sync and what should I do?

    Dear Paradis,

Good day! Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

According to your description, for "I created mine in a Teams group", do you mean the form owner is the Teams group (Microsoft 365 Group) as in the following screenshot?

    Image

If so, no need to worry, your workbook is stored in the same name SharePoint site, and it will be updated automatically. Also, you can click the Responses tab and check the Excel icon. If it displays an Excel icon with cloud, it means the workbook is stored online (OneDrive/SharePoint). If it displays an Excel icon without cloud, it means you will download the workbook every time you access it.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
