Cannot open any SharePoint Version history Error

Question

Hi there,

I'm trying to restore a version history of an excel document but when I open any of the previous versions I get an error, even if a make a change to the current document the previous version does not become available.

If I open up the latest document and version history and see the changes everyone has made, I'm not sure whether it shows the same data?

I have tested this on different SharePoint sites I encounter the same problem.

It is also connected to a team's Channel.

In our tests here, no similar problems occurred. We can open the previous version of the file normally.

Before we proceed, I would like to confirm the following information so that we can narrow down your scenario：

• Does this issue also occur if you restore historical versions directly from the client？ （Go to File> Info.）Ref：Restore a previous version of a file without unwanted changes (microsoft.com)
• Do your colleagues have this problem too？
• At the same time, I also noticed that your historical version information seems to be more than 5000, which is not normal, so I wonder if you still have this problem if you try to open a file with fewer versions.
