In normal circumstances a reset works like a "close all notebooks", so you just have to re-open them.

I was in the middle of a timed open-book quiz and my OneNote wasn't working so I closed it and reopened it. It still wasn't working so it gave me the option to 'reset' it. In my haste, I hit 'reset' and now I have no notes at all. Please tell me there is a way to fix this. I already looked at 'view,' and 'deleted notes' and there isn't anything there.

Dear Natalie T_263,
Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.
As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.
May I confirm if the notebook was created by yourself or it was shared by other users? Please open the OneNote for web version and see if you could find the notebook. If you couldn't find the notebook with OneNote web version, we think the content may not synced to online server successfully. Try if you could recover the notebook with automatic backup feature: Recover deleted notes (microsoft.com).
If you still couldn't recover the notebook. We notice you post this question in For education category, so we suppose you have Microsoft 365 for education subscription. In this situation, we sincerely recommend you contact your Microsoft 365 administrator, follow steps in this article and try to create a support ticket to contact Online Support. The support team over there has higher permission than us, they can remotely help check the situation on your side. This would be a more efficient way in handling this case for you.
For reference: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin?
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation! Have a good day.
Sincerely,
Sean | Microsoft Community Moderator
