Error Opening Excel File from Forms Responses

I have set up my Microsoft Form and am receiving responses. However, when I go to open the Excel file documenting responses, I am met with an error page saying "Sorry , something went wrong. Please try again." and there seems to be no fix. I have tried clearing my browser's cache files and using alternative browsers with no luck. I have also tried syncing to a new workbook and that did not work either.

    Dear Zach J Richardson,

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

As per your description, the error message appears when you try to open the Excel file from Forms Responses tab. We appreciate you share with us the troubleshooting ways you have tried.

When we test from our side, we cannot reproduce the error.

Are there other collaborators in the form? If yes, you may let them check from their side and check if they can open the Excel file.

If no other collaborators, we do understand the frustration and apologize for the inconvenience caused. Considering you have tried different browsers but got same error, more resource need to be involved to check this form from back end for further investigation.

Given this situation, we sincerely recommend you contact your Microsoft 365 administrator and follow steps in this article to create a support ticket to contact Online Support from Microsoft 365 Admin Center. The support team over there has higher permission than us. They can remotely help you and also check the form from back end. They can involve more resource to assist you further. This would be a more efficient way in handling this case for you.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. Hope you keep safe and healthy always!

    Sincerely,

    Tina | Microsoft Community Moderator
