Error message in Word

Apple replaced my Macbook pro with a brand new one and I used Time machine and reloaded my files and apps. Since then everytime I open a Word Document I get the following error message.

It freezes the Word document and Word completely. I can get rid of it by pressing End several times. However I would prefer it not to be there.

I spent 6 hours with MS support trying to sort this with no success. We think it might have something to do with WordRake but can't find WordRake on anything. We think it might be something left on the time machine backup.

They are now suggesting I re install Monterey but I can't then reload everything from Time Machine as the same problem might be there. I can backup all my files etc but don't want to lose all my apps.

Any bright ideas? please.

Don't have the original computer but have downloaded WordRake free. It does seemed to have cleared the problem.

Have tried deleting it but it is still appearing in the Word toolbar (it wasn't there before when the problem occurred). So I am not sure how to ensure I have deleted it.

Why do I need it - I didn't have it on the previous computer (well not that I could see). I am also not very keen on paying a yearly sub for it. Can't find WordRake in apps to delete it. Managed to find something in spotlight but as I said it is still there in the Wood toolbar. Do I need to do anything else.

However you have managed to suggest a solution that MS support didn't!

    Hello Valerie,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by this prompt.

According to screenshot and your description after you migrated your data to a new Mac the file libWordRake.MacOS.Bridge.dylib gone missing. Probably, you had WordRake add-in installed on your previous Mac, so now this error message appears on a new device.

In this scenario I may suggest you try the following methods and see if they can solve an issue:

    1. If you have access to your previous Mac you may navigate to /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office365/User Content.localized/Add-ins.localized/WordRake/  and copy the needed file to your new Mac.
    2. You may try to install WordRake on your Mac and check if it can fix an issue. Here is a link for your reference Free Editing Software Trial | WordRake. You may try to install a trial version and if it fix the issue you may delete it.
