Sharepoint / Onedrive Syncing

Hi Team

I'm having trouble with syncing sharepoint to onedrive.

We have a work sharepoint site that our 6 employees can access and edit, add files, delete files, libraries etc.

Previously we have accessed files / folders / libraries using browser shortcuts but we have recently started using onedrive syncing.

When in the sharepoint site you hit the sync button and a onedrive location is created under file exp[orer and each time I hit sync on a new sharepoint library it adds a new folder to the onedrive location in file explorer.

I now just access our sharepoint files via the onedrive location in file explorer and I thought that if I made changes in file explorerer it would be making the changes on Sharepoint too, however I have created new files and folders which other collegues cant see on sharepoint. If I or any of my collegues access sharepoint via web browser the new files / folders aren't there.

What am i doing wrong??

Dear Stefan,

Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community.

Based on your description, you synced SharePoint library to file explorer via OneDrive sync client. However, when you create new files in OneDrive sync folder, this change will not be reflected to the online.

I tested it on my side, there was no problem, you can check the status of the new created folder in the following pictures. And it only take a few seconds to sync to the online.

Given this situation, to help you better, could you please provide more information for me?

  1. Please provide a screenshot of the sync status for your OneDrive folder and a screenshot when clicking the OneDrive icon in the menu bar.
  2. Does the problem happen on all the library folders?
  3. Do your colleagues have the same problem when they create new folder on their side?
  4. Your OneDrive version.

Appreciate your cooperation in advance.

Sincerely,

Jazlyn | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Dear Stefan,

    Thank you for the reply.

From the OneDrive version you provided, it seems that your version is ahead of the Product Version, the versions of the Insider channel may not be very stable. If it's convenient for you, we suggest you can uninstall the current version and install the Production version from the release notes to see the behavior:

Please follow the steps below to uninstall OneDrive first(you can turn on Files On Demand before uninstalling the OneDrive):

Download the Microsoft OneDrive app from the website: OneDrive release notes (microsoft.com)

Open OneDrive and follow the prompts to sign in and get started.

    Sincerely,
