Duplicated dropdown

Hi,

I have a form with a dropdown list (List 1) which is a lookup column from another list (List 2).

List 2 is like:

A 1244

A 12445

A 247

The formula in my List 1 form under 'ITEMS' = Choices([@'List1'].ColumnAList2).Value which showed all the duplicates ie A in the dropdown list.

When I added the distinct formula to = Distinct(Choices([@'List1'].ColumnAList2).Value, Value).Result, the dropdown list showed 'blank' but the Result pane under the formula tab showed the results.

Can assist?

Thank you.

    Hi FarhanahN,

    Thanks for your reply.

We check this formula in SharePoint List build-in forms and the result turns out to be 'Enter a valid condition'. So may I kindly confirm if you are using Power Apps forms formula?

If yes, we recommend you to post this thread in Microsoft Power Apps Community because the Team and members there could provide you with more professional and targeted suggestions on Power Apps to meet your requirement and our community is mostly focus on Microsoft build-in features.

Meanwhile, we search a lot and find some articles may provide help to the Choice/Distinct function in Power Apps:

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

    Hi Sean,

The blank column in List 1 is a lookup column, and the column in List 2 used for the lookup is a text column.

I've tried the classic, didnt work and the same apply to my other list.

    Thank you.

    Dear FarhanahN,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft community.

I go through your description and understand your requirement to use formula to show the data in List2. May I confirm the following information to help us narrow down this behavior?

    1. If the blank drop down list is a look up column or choice column?
    2. What is the column type of the data in List 2?

With detailed information we could have a test on our site to repro this behavior.

Meanwhile, please try the steps below to see if the behavior remains:

    1. Try the classic view at the left bottom of the list page:

    1. Try another site to check if the behavior remains.

Thanks for your cooperation and we look forward to your reply.

    Sincerely,
