PowerPoint 365: Setting up Notes Master

Hi! I may be trying to do something that can't be done; using Notes Master, I want to set up a heading "style," a "regular text" style, and 3 levels of bullets.

I can create all of the various options within the Notes Master, I just can't use them in the actual notes without "faking" it (by manually unbulleting text that shouldn't be bullets). The goal is to be able to easily enter a note like the following, using the Enter key to separate paragraphs and the Tab key to activate a bullet (or Shift-Tab to decrease the tab level):

This is a Heading

This is regular text that wraps and wraps and wraps and wraps and wraps and wraps and wraps and wraps and wraps and wraps.

  • This is a first-level bullet
  • This is a second-level bullet
             - This is a third-level bullet
    

Back to regular text.

If the Notes Master ONLY has bullets, they work perfectly. Seems like there should be a way to include formatting for regular text AND bullets. Anyone have a clue to share?

    Hi George -- thank you very much for your reply. I've prepared a 4-slide presentation that shows the problem. How can I upload it to you? What "online drive" are you referring to? My Google Drive? Or is their a Microsoft drive? In the meanwhile, this is my Notes Master; the first level is not a bullet:

    This is in Notes Page view -- the problem is getting from the first level (non-bullet text) to the second level (a bullet):

    A "mickey mouse" way is to reapply the Notes Master after typing -- inefficient since this would have to be done whenever new text was added. In the example below, I reapplied the Notes Master before typing "Another Heading, followed by ....":

    I'm perfectly happy to wait for a solution as long as it takes. I've been using PowerPoint since it was a PowerPuppy and I'm a big fan. My hope is that I'm missing some simple best practice for this glitch. Workarounds are fine for me, but when I send a template to someone else, they should be able to use it without tricks.

    Hi Fifi Klein,

    Based on my test, to display the note as the Note Master, you need to increase/decrease the list level. Since you mentioned “I can create all of the various options within the Notes Master”, may I know more details about it? You can provide a screenshot of it or share a test presentation with us. For sharing a test presentation, you can upload it to the online drive and share the file link with us.
