OneNote for Windows 10 not Syncing Error: E0001462 bukxq 30105

Hi all,

I've been using OneNote for Windows 10 (not the desktop app but the native Windows Store app) and am about to change laptops but noticed my notes haven't synced since May!

Really need to carry these notes over to my new laptop, but logging into the new laptop shows only the notes before May have been synced.

I see this error:

and when I click Sync now, nothing happens. Is there a way to force a sync or do an offline backup and reupload to my new laptop? This is for the Windows 10 APP not the desktop app. I tried following this link (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/fix-issues-when-you-can-t-sync-onenote-299495ef-66d1-448f-90c1-b785a6968d45?ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us) but it's only relevant to the desktop app and the same options don't exist in the Windows App.

Would appreciate any help.

Dear Josh,

Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, OneNote for Windows 10 app doesn't sync notebooks on your device since May.

To prevent data loss, please first go to OneNote Online to check which notes are not successfully synced to the cloud, and then backup those notes that are not synced(like copying contents to Word/notepad). Then you can try the following suggestions.

You can first try to create a new notebook, then copy the sections over to the new notebook. If a similar message occurs, then try copying on page level to see the result.

Then you may try closing the notebook, quitting OneNote, and then opening the notebooks from the cloud location in OneNote, to see if you still get the same issue. To do this, follow the steps below:

     1. Right-click all the notebooks in OneNote, and click Close This Notebook. Repeat the steps to close all the notebooks.

     2. Sign out from your application and quit the application.

     3. Sign in and open the notebook in OneNote Online and click Open in Desktop App.

     4. Now it will launch your OneNote application and it will ask you to sign in.

If the issue persists, please provide the following information:

  1. Please confirm the version information from the affected OneNote app. Click "…" on the upper-right corner>Settings>About.
  2. Are you using a Microsoft account (e.g. ***@outlook.com) or a work or school account?

Sincerely,
