Editor Settings button missing

According to: Check grammar, spelling, and more in Word (microsoft.com) there should be a settings button in the Editor pane, where I can change things like punctuation conventions

I don't get that button.

Any suggestions how I access Editor settings?

    Ross @ CIrcleIT has pointed me to an answer.

    It is unclear whether the settings button is or is not supposed to appear in the Editor pane on Wrod on the web but it definitley doessn't

    However you CAN get at the settings

    Go to the Review tab and select the drop down list next to the Editor button and you can see Editor Settings...

    Hope this helps others

    Hi Tin,

    Thank you very much for your help. That appears to work in desktop app but not in Word for Microsoft 365. Do you get the same?

    THe support page I was looking at, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/check-grammar-spelling-and-more-in-word-0f43bf32-ccde-40c5-b16a-c6a282c0d251 specifically describes this working in Word for Microsoft 365 but it doesn't look the same on my screen

    Word for Microsoft 365 is a (deliberately?) ambiguous term or branding. It refers to both the desktop application and the browser app. They are not the same.

    Proofing options works in the desktop application, not in the browser. There are many features of which that is true.

    Differences between using a document in the browser and in Word

    The help article you reference does appear to be for the browser version but, like you, I see no setting button, only the choice on formality.

    Which version of Word are you running? Perpetual (one-time purchase) licenses do not support the Editor fully.
