Clicking the Repair Now button often fails to repair Office.

Instead, start an online repair as discussed in the support article at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b.

    Hi Mary J,

I’m Gunasekar and I will be happy to help you with your question, I am a Microsoft consumer like you.

If an Office application such as Word or Excel isn’t working correctly, sometimes restarting it will fix the problem. If that doesn’t work, you can try repairing it. When you’re done, you might need to restart your computer.

    1. Close all Office applications.
    2. Search for the control panel in the search bar on the taskbar, and click enter.
    3. Choose a category view.
    4. In the Programs section, click uninstall a program and search for office 365.
    5. Right-click Microsoft Office 365 and select Modify.
    6. Select Online Repair. When prompted for User Account Control, select Yes.

When it is done, Restart your PC.

If that does not help, then you might remove all traces of the Office installation by downloading the fixit from the following article:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501

Download Microsoft Office 2019 from your Microsoft account.

    1. Go to www.office.com/ and sign in with your Microsoft account.
    2. click install Office in the top right corner.
    3. Download and install the packages.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I’ll be glad to assist you further.

    Best regards,

    Gunasekar N

I have the same question. It is very frustrating especially when giving a presentation and the error message pops up and I have to reboot. Cannot find a fix in the MS help area for this problem.
