Microsoft List Row Requires Access Request

I have a Microsoft List that we want to filter access to a single row.

This is easy as we select the row and then click the share button. The users then have access to the row with the exception of one column (A multiple lines of text column with rich text enabled - See screenshot below) and are prompted to request access.

Is there a way to provide access to this column without having the user request access? What setting is making a single column require addition access?

I appreciate any help with resolving this issue. Thanks!

    Tin,

Thank you for the follow-up. I did a check permissions on all of the users and there was nothing indicating the issue.

I did notice that there was a This list item has unique permissions.

I deleted them and retested by following these steps:

    1. Selected a row from the list
    2. Clicked the Share button and selected the option that users within my organization can edit
    3. Removed myself as a user
    4. Clicked the link to load the list
    5. Selected the cell with the multilines of text and rich text enabled with a table in it
    6. Received the same request access link even though I can access every other cell in the row without this issue

    Dear Mike Mn,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, we understand that a user cannot access column (A multiple lines of text column) by sharing the item in SharePoint List.

It seems that I didn`t meet the same situation in my test:

As far as I can tell, there are no specific Settings for modifying access to columns. So you can start by checking the current permissions for this item:

    Choose item->Right click item->Detail->Manage access->Advance:

Click check Permissions to check the Permissions:

If there is no problem with permissions, please inform us of the following information:

    • Whether this happens in other Lists?
    • Whether this is the case for all users?

    Sincerely,

    Tin | Microsoft Community Moderator
