Good morning all

SharePoint online

created Site, using M365 securities in Azure. to enable ring fencing on Library

then using that Group in the Classic sharePoint permissions.

Been asked for the following in a library

  1. Top folders can only be created by certain members..
  2. Sub folders within the Top folder can be then created by everyone.

Where do I start and can this be done.

Library created in the library permissions. a M365 group is set to Contribute.

Your help would be most appreciated

Dear Ralph ,

You can create the flow as follows.

Trigger: When an item is created.

Condition: If the folder isn't created by the library owner

If the item is a folder

If the folder path is libraryname/

Action: If yes, delete the item. If no, leave the item.

The flow will automatically remove the top folder which is created by users and will leave the files which is created by the users and leave the subfolder which is created by the users.

Sincerely,

    Dear Ralph,

    Thanks for your updates.

Your requirement may be achieved by a flow and I may need some time to do a test and I'll update here as soon as possible.

    Sincerely,

    Dear Ralph ,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

To better understand the situation and share suggestions based on the specific scenario on your side, could you confirm information below? We appreciate your patience and understanding.

1.Are all users in a Microsoft 365 group and you have shared the library with the group with Contribute permission?

2.Do you want to set permission in the library to let certain members in the Microsoft 365 group can create top folders and everyone can create subfolders in the top folder?

    Sincerely,

    Tina | Microsoft Community Moderator
