Hi

I'm using embedded Visio objects inside power point presentations.
Every once in a while, the embedded Visio drawing is not editable, I cannot open it in Visio or edit it.
Before opening the embedded drawing it looks OK. When opening the drawing it shown as empty Visio drawing and after closing Visio, the image appears as blank.

I tried to access it through the cloud as same results.
I tries to copy the object to other Visio window or other slide but the image remain blank.

    Hi Michelle

    Thanks for you reply.

I have visio installed on my computer so this is not the issue,

Usually when opening the embedded drawing all goes well.

Every once in a while, one sporadic visio object is shown as blank and from there on, it cannot be repaired.

It looks like some bug in the embedded visio which cause the object to be unusable.

    Hi Ariel,

I'm Michelle and I'd be glad to help you out with your query or concern.

Just like what jrauman suggested, Unlike the Visio application, the Visio Viewer could not run a program itself, when you click a Visio file, it opens in an Internet Explorer window.

Without installing Visio, Word will identify the embedded Visio drawing as an Unknown Object. In my opinion, it is expected behavior.

I suggest you use hyperlinks to link Visio drawings and keep Word documents and Visio files in one folder.

I hope this information helps you. If you have any questions, please do let me know and I'll be more than happy to assist you further with this.

    Best Regards,

    Michelle
