Hello,
I need to install office 365 on Win 7 and got recommendation on how to do it from another thread.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/office-365-installation-error/d7335cac-187b-4312-9591-98194a4d363f%EF%BF%BCUnfortunately,Unfortunately, trying to follow given recommendations described in the "How to revert.." article I still got the same error message:

Faulting application name: setup.exe_Microsoft Office, version: 16.0.14931.20118, time stamp: 0x621983a3

Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7601.24545, time stamp: 0x5e0eb7f5
I downloaded installer (Step 2), then changed config.xml file (Step 3) accordingly, then run cmd as administrator (Step 4), and then tried to run setup.exe /configure config.xml command.
Config.xml file is as following:
<Configuration>

<Updates Enabled="TRUE" TargetVersion="16.0.12325.20298" />

</Configuration>
I alsotried earlier versions, even first one 7668.2066 - 1612, but error the same...

    Hello Greg,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community and appreciate your time taken for sharing detailed information. I understand that Office 365 Previous version installation error. I could share with you some of my thoughts on this issue.

    Office365 now supports the minimum operating system for Windows 8.1, so configuration can go wrong. If you're going to install it, you may need to upgrade your operating system. If you install Office 365 on Winodws 7, you may need to contact Microsoft Online Support to see if there is a way, but generally not.

    Feel free to post back if you need any further assistance.

    Best Regard,

    Kevin | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
