I'm using Word for Mac, current version, downloaded through Office 365.
For certain legal documents, I need to make a "table" that looks like it's a box on the left side of the page, but with the left side of the square missing.
What I used to do it create a two column table, with one row, and then erase the left border of the left cell, and the top, right and bottom borders of the right cell.
This left the top and bottom borders of the left cell and the middle upright border - but the right cell still "existed". I was able to put text in the left and/or right cell. (Sorry, I don't know how to show a pic of what I'm taking about, but I think the above makes sense.)
Now, if I erase the top, right and bottom border of the right cell, the cell itself "disappears." I can't put text there. I'm left with only a single cell on the left side of the page. Even if I have text in the right cell before I erase the borders.
Is there any way that I can keep that right cell active even after I get rid of the borders?
This has been driving me nuts.
Thanks in advance.
