Hi.

This is my first time using MS Form as my quiz platform. I had conducted a Post-Test.

After i had graded everything, i realized there are no names at all. the default names are Anonymous. Now the respondents are asking for their individual results.

I had tried posting the marks and ask them to access the quiz link again, but they all see the form from the beginning.

Please help and let me know a way how to detect who answered which.

Dear Dee9588,

Greetings. Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, it seems that you created a Microsoft Form and shared it with some respondents, however, you found that after receiving their responses and grading them, users have been displayed as anonymous, and you can’t see who answered which question!

May I know if my understanding is right? If so, generally, if you want to display names, you can go to the Form edit page, click the three dots collapse button to open the settings pane, you can select “Record Name” option. The Record Name” option only appears when you select “Only people in my organization can respond” or “Specific people in my organization can respond”. In this way, it will record the user name who has submitted the responses. See the screenshot below:

However, this option is not available when you set “Anyone with the link can respond”. When you set it to this”, responses will be anonymous, and no personal information will be identified, such as name or user ID. In this scenario, Microsoft Forms can’t identify the people who submit the response. Here is a detailed article that you can check: Adjust your form or quiz settings in Microsoft Forms. In your scenario, I believe you might have “Anyone with the link can respond” selected when sharing the form link.

According to this situation, I am afraid that for the users who have already submitted their responses, it may not be possible to change their names from anonymous, however, for those users who have not yet submitted their responses, we’d suggest you refer to the steps in the article provided above to change settings and share the form again.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Sincerely,
