background color button missing from office products - HELP

I suddenly cannot format color or transparency behind text on office products. The background color button disappeared

    Hello Danaantigua,

    Thank you for posting your question in our community, please can you check if you have pending Office updates by doing the following:

    Go to File > Account (or Office Account if you opened Outlook). Under Product Information, choose Update Options > Update Now. Note: You may need to click Enable Updates first if you don't see the Update Now option right away.
