Error message query (Publisher)

I am having an issue with Publisher; when I open a document, after a few minutes an error message pops up -

"We're sorry, but Publisher has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. Publisher will be need to be closed as a result. Would you like us to repair now?"

followed by 3 options; Repair Now, Help or Close.

I have selected Repair Now and, as expected, Publisher closed. I waited a few minutes and reopened the document and the same thing happened again. I have restarted my laptop and tried again with the same result, even tried opening different Publisher documents. Is this a glitch or is there a genuine issue? I had to transfer all my documents to this laptop from my old one and lost all of my Publisher documents in the process. I don't want this to happen again as I use Publisher to work from home.

Just tried using Word and the same has happened again.

    Hi,

My name is Tim and I’ll try my best to resolve your issue.

I’m sorry to see you’re experiencing problems using office.

So you have attempted the repair now with no luck.

I have attached below a link to a Microsoft Support document that shows you an alternative way of repairing Office. Can I ask you to follow those instructions and if that doesn’t work there is an option to follow which will essentially uninstall and reinstall office.
