You may use conditional formating on the target cell
Color Code Cells - by input
Something I love to do for my models is to color code based on whether the cell is a value or a calculation. Excel for has some canned color coding options but they have to be applied manually.
Is there a way for Excel to automatically format a cell with calculation one way, and a value another way? (are there other categories?). I am happy if this has to be a macro I run on a selection of cells.
Thanks

To color-code, a cell, based on whether it has a value or a calculation/formula
You may use Conditional Formatting with a formula rule like =ISFORMULA(B2)
In the sample picture below the last 3 cells in the range contains formulas
Adapt the range in the formula according to your real scenario.
I hope this helps you and gives a solution to your problem,
Do let me know if you need more help.
