    Dear ChaseTech,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I can understand you are getting an error when trying to refresh workbook connections. I tested from my side on the latest version of Excel, and I could not see the same behavior. I would like to give suggestions below and hope that will help:

    1. Try Online repair from Control Panel: Click the Start button > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Click the Office product you want to repair> Click Change /Modify > Online repair. And after that restart your computer.
    2. Can you please also try to start Excel in Safe Mode and see if the same behavior happens? See Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC.

To help narrow down the situation, please provide the following information for further troubleshooting:

    1. May I know your Office version details? Please go to Excel>File>Account> take a screenshot of that page ad send it to us.
    2. Do all files meet the same situation? or it is a specific file? You may try to create another file with links and try to refresh connections and see how it goes.
    3. May I know when this behavior emerged?
    4. May i know what kind of connections you are trying to refresh? Are you trying to refresh normal workbook links?

We apologize for the inconveniences, and we look forward to your reply. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
