Hello Support,

One of our team members receives this error when trying to open files in OneDrive.

"The cloud sync provider failed to perform the operation due to low system resources".

I tried opening the files directly in Sharepoint and we get the same error.

Any help is appreciated.

    Dear Eddie K_642,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in Microsoft forum.

May I know whether the error appears when you open workbook from local OneDrive synced folder or when you open file directly from browser via Open in Desktop app (screenshot below for reference)?

Please check if you can open the file from within Office apps. To confirm, open Excel, click File>Open, select OneDrive for business or SharePoint online location and then click any Excel workbook to open, check if the files without any issue.

If the error appears only when opening files from OneDrive sync app, please try resetting OneDrive sync app. For more information, see Reset OneDrive

Note*: Resetting OneDrive disconnects all your existing sync connections (including personal OneDrive and OneDrive for work or school if set up). You won't lose files or data by resetting OneDrive on your computer.*

Check if resetting OneDrive fixes the issue. OneDrive will perform a full sync after the reset.

We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial suggestion may not resolve the problem. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. If the issue persists, please provide the following information:

    1. Please provide the screenshot of Microsoft 365 Product Information. To get this screenshot, open Word or Excel on the affected device, click File>Account, capture the screenshot of all the information mentioned under Product Information.
    2. May I know the version of OneDrive sync app affected user is using?
    3. Is the error appearing in all the files (including PowerPoint/Word)?

We will look forward to your reply. Stay safe and stay healthy.

    Sincerely,
