Is it possible to disable AutoRecover in Excel, I have a report that is starting to crash Excel when refreshing data sources(MS Access ACCDB) and have tried to disable AutoRecover but Excel is still forcing recovery that is trashing the whole workbook. Here is the Options/Save screen, and a before and after recovery snapshot of workbook.

Thanks for your consideration

    Hi Snow,

Thanks for your support. I wanted to say yes, that solved my problem, but it did appear that after Excel Crashed, Excel was in Recovery mode with the Window Message Microsoft Excel has stopped working Restart the Program.

I clicked restart the program and when Excel restarted and came up with the recovered file (workbook destroyed), the Excel Option ->Save -> Disable AutoRecover for this workbook only was de-selected.

    Hi CrazyVan,

Check the "Disable AutoRecover for this workbook only". It will disable autorecovery for this file.

From your description, it's better to backup your file first and find cause which caused excel carsh.

    Best Regards,

    Snow Lu
