Finding MCID

I have 2 accounts, including a version of 365 purchased on my iPad this month, that I would like to merge. After a previous request , it appears that I need to get my mcid. I do not know how to find it. Elsewhere on this site I found info that it should come from mswwprog@microsoft.com However I searched the email in my new email box & have no msgs from this address. I need to take a step by step approach. Is this the appropriate first step? How do I locate the MSID. Thanks

Michaelle W, Pkg is for Mac OS and not PC. You do not need MCID to access Office apps.

To remove Office 2019 for Mac applications

  1. Open Finder > Applications. 2.Command ⌘ + click to select all of the Office for Mac applications.
  2. Ctrl+click an application you selected and click Move to Trash.

Step 2: Remove files from your user Library folder

  1. In Finder, press ⌘+Shift+g.
  2. In the window that opens, enter ~/Library and then click Go.
  3. Open the Containers folder and ctrl+click each of these folders and Move to Trash. Note that some of these folders may not be present.

com.microsoft.Outlook com.microsoft.Powerpoint com.microsoft.RMS-XPCService com.microsoft.Word com.microsoft.onenote.mac

  1. Click the back arrow to go back to the Library folder and open Group Containers. Ctrl+click each of these folders if present, and Move to Trash.

Step 3: Remove from Dock and restart

  1. If you put any of the Office applications in your Dock, go to each one and ctrl + click > Options > Remove from Dock.
  2. Restart your Mac to complete the uninstall.

Step 4: Remove Office license files on a Mac using license removal tool.

1. Download the license removal tool. https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=849815

  1. Open the .pkg file from your Mac's Downloads folder.
  2. Select Continue and follow the prompts in the setup wizard.
  3. When you're ready to complete the license removal, select Install. You may need to enter your Mac's local admin account password.

After the tool successfully removes licenses, select Close.

Step 5: Install your Microsoft Office 365 from your Microsoft account with the active subscription by signing in https://office.com/myaccount

Thanks so much for your help. I don’t have any certification at this time & don’t think I need 1. I have an old outdated Outlook pkg. I am going to try to install 365 on my pc & phone (on my iPad now). Then I will try to merge. Basically I want to use my previous existing email, which is not on outlook (I created new 1 when I purchased 365) with the new versions of Word & the other 365 software pkgs.

I think that I got confused since I’m very bad with computers. I’d appreciate any advice. Thx.

Thank you. I’m working on this. But, as an end user, do I need any certification? I just want to use software.
