Forms Data Residency

Hi there,

In Australia, Forms data is stored in the US by default. However, it's possible to create a "Forms for Excel" file in SharePoint, and the Forms responses to filter into that. As our SharePoint data is stored in Australia, is this Excel document consequently stored in Australia? I imagine it would be stored in Australia, but a confirmation would be very helpful!

Thank you.

Dear Christian Shawyer,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you

Based on your description, we understand that  you want to comfirm whether the Excel document created by "Forms for Excel" stored in Australia?

The short answer is yes, this file is automatically imported into Excel as a response you receive, and it is just another file. You can think of Froms as automatically exporting the response data to Excel. The Forms you create from this way are still stored in servers of Microsoft Forms. They are in the US.
