From the screenshot you shared, we can see that there are 51,319 files in the folder. Considering that same situation appears in different browsers, we're afraid SharePoint is getting throttled.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

This particular folder has more than 51 K items and multiple sub folder into it.

Yesterday, I tried to upload them again, and UI was showing that, more than 51 items were uploading, and then got the same error:

    Out of memory.

I tried on both Chrome and Edge.

Also, I cannot use OneDrive client sync, as I need to give license to each user to access this site, also, I cannot share my OneDrive credentials with them to access the SharePoint site from sync location.

UI was showing 51 k items are uploading, and it completed the operations and then, I got the error.

When I checked the storage metrics, it shows 575 MB, but actual size is 25 GB.

Looks like, due to multiple folders and subfolders, SharePoint is getting throttled.Image

    Dear Prathamesh Suresh Ch,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

As per your description, you are getting an error while uploading a folder from local drive to SharePoint Online site. Folder size is 25GB.

We'd like to help you, please don't worry and please let us cooperate, we can work together and try to narrow down and resolve the situation.

Generally, as mentioned in this article Restrictions and limitations in OneDrive and SharePoint - Microsoft Support Individual file upload limit is 250GB, the upload limit for files within a zip is 20GB.

If your folder is not a zipped folder, we suppose it doesn't exceed the size limit.

May I know which browser are you using? Does the issue happen in a specific browser?

You may try a different browser, such as Edge or Firefox.

And I'd like to share following suggestions, hope they can help you.

1.If it's convenient, you may create a new folder on local drive, move files to this new folder, upload new folder to SharePoint and see if it works.

2.You may try to use OneDrive application to upload and sync the folder to SharePoint Online.

Firstly sync the document library to your computer local drive, then move or drag the folder to OneDrive sync folder, let it sync to SharePoint Online.

For more detailed information, please refer to Sync SharePoint and Teams files with your computer - Microsoft Support

If you still cannot upload the folder to SharePoint, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

For further troubleshooting, may I know how many items are there in the document library where you want to upload the folder? ( Number of files from all folders and subfolders in document library, not including the number of folders)

If our understanding of the scenario is not consistent with yours, feel free to point it out.

Thanks for your cooperation! Hope you have a nice day, stay safe and healthy always.

    Sincerely,
