    Dear Anja MZH,

    Thank you for coming back.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience this situation has caused you.

I found the same thing in my tests, when using the 16.64 version of the Office for Mac suite, I couldn't save files to the OneDrive side.

Currently, I recommend that you create a new file directly in the web version of OneDrive. At the same time, we take your feedback very seriously, and I think the development team of the product submitted this as well. Thanks for pointing out this phenomenon. At the same time, I also suggest that you can submit your feedback to the development team, I believe that this situation will be avoided after the new version is released.

More information for you to reference: How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office?

    Sincerely,

    Hello,

My version of One Note as an app is currently 16.64. I have tried the Word app and it similarly doesn't let the created document save to the One Drive. However I have tried the One Note app on my phone and it works fine and I have tried doing it online and it works, and I have also tried re-installing the app.

    Thank you.

    Dear Anja MZH,

    Thank you for coming back.

I am sorry for you still have this situation.

Please try login your account via OneDrive Online, and check whether you can create a new notebook and open it in the OneNote client. This can help us to check whether this situation is caused by Office client.

What`s more, we would like to know the following:

    • Whether other Office Application cannot create a new file in OneDrive, such as Word?
    • The version of your OneNote(OneNote->About OneNote)

    Sincerely,

    Tin | Microsoft Community Moderator

Thank you, I have tried this and nothing seems to change and the cloud is syncing and is connected with the app. When I go to File> New Notebook, in the bottom right corner it says 'Where' and it says to sign in with a valid One Drive and it doesn't work. I have tried restarting the laptop and it still seems to be the same.

Thank you so much for all the help.

    Dear Anja MZH,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on the description, you tried signing in your email on your OneNote to connect your OneDrive but it is not doing anything. Apologies for the inconvenience caused to you by this behavior. I checked for this behavior and there is recent service incident about OneNote cannot sync to OneDrive service OP420363 and the service has been restored 2022-08-17 1:49 AM UTC.

May I know after you log in your School Account can you see the cloud icon on the upper right of OneNote application?

On the lower left of OneNote screen, kindly click your account > click on connect service > choose OneDrive for business > sign in your school account. After signing in on the upper right side there will be cloud icon > click on the cloud icon and check the status.

For more information, you can refer to this article Sync OneNote notebooks on your Mac or PC with your iPad or iPhone (microsoft.com).

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation. Stay safe and healthy always.

    Sincerely,
