I have the same problem! Today, I received 7 different charges for 0.99 and I do not have this debit card connected to my Microsoft account. I only have another credit card connected to it and it only charges it for my Office subscription. I've never used this card for anything Microsoft-related. The fact that so many people have reported this issue is suspicious and Microsoft should look into this. Did the charges ever disappear for you, Patrick?

As Karl says it is a way of checking a debit or credit card, and often used by thieves who intend taking unauthorised payments.

    Hello Patrick M

Hi, I'm Karl and will be happy to help you today.

.99 cent charges are frequently used to verify a credit card. In legitimate cases, the charge is authorized but is never actually put through - same concept as going to get gas using a credit card at the pump. An inflated amount is initially charged to your card but only the actual amount is ultimately charged to the card.

    Would do things

#1 - Check your Microsoft Order History to see if there is anything showing that is unexpected. If yes, contact Microsoft Store Support as described in

How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/how-to-investigate-a-billing-charge-from-microsoft-398c5328-364c-d5e4-ea8f-f5ad60562a93

#2 - Keep a very close eye on your credit card charges by checking your account online. Probably wouldn't hurt to contact your credit card provider to let them know that you don't know why those charges are appearing if there is nothing you can find out from #1
