Retrieving notes from locked account

Good day

I finished my medical studies at the end of last year. For the past 6 years I've been making notes on all my subjects with the idea of using them someday in practice and adding to them as I grow and learn more. For the past 3 months these notes haven't been syncing as they were made on my university account and that account has since been locked. I've been trying to get around to fixing it but never had a chance and since the notebooks were still open on my computer it didn't really bother me

This week OneNote crashed and closed all the open notebooks. Now opening those made on my university account is blocked as my account is locked. I've tried reaching out to both my university and some departments at microsoft but no one can help me. All the notes are still saved on the computer I just cant access them

It will be very heart breaking if the past 6 years hard work is lost

If someone can help I would really appreciate it

The files in the Backup directory are formally local notebooks and need no sign in.

It's a little bit cumbersome to recreate a notebook:

Create a new empty local (This PC) notebook, double click a section (.one file) from Backup to open it in OneNote and move it per right click into the new notebook. And so on.

So the files are backed up and I'm able to see them. The problem is I'm unable to open them as it needs me to sign in and the university account is locked.

You didn't tell us what OneNote you use:

OneNote for Windows 10: notebooks are lost

OneNote 2016: potentially backups in "C:\Users<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneNote\16.0\Backup"
