Hi there,

I have been using my university Microsoft Office on my desktop for some time now, but I am having trouble accessing it on the desktop apps recently with the error below showing, maybe shortly after Multi-Factor Authentication was introduced by the university. My desktop uses Windows 10 Pro.

Any suggestions is appreciated!

    Hi jc376,

Thank you for querying in this forum.

From your description, it seems that you cannot sign in Office applications in windows and encountered an error message after enabling Multi-Factor Authentication.

If my understanding is right, for the situation you encountered, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

According to the error message you encountered, we have also searched a lot, this error occurs when you add your work/school account to Windows and cannot enroll your device to Azure AD.

Given this situation, on the one hand, we’d suggest you refer to this article: Troubleshooting Windows device enrollment problems in Intune - Intune | Microsoft Docs to contact IT admin in your organization to help check if he has not enabled Windows MDM enrollment in your Intune tenant, if so, he may need to go to Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center to help change the settings.

On the other hand, if your admin has enabled it, you can also try the suggestions below and hope that will help you:

    1. You can go to Windows Settings > Access work or school > Select "Disconnect" then you can sign in with your education account again.
    2. You can also refer to the suggestion in this thread: Office 365 School Account not Working (error code 80180014) - Microsoft Community, original poster mentioned he solved this issue via reinstalling Office.

If the suggestions above all don’t work, to better understand your situation, could you provide the information below?

    1. May I know if the other students have the same problem?
    2. May I know if you can use your education account to sign in Office 365 portal?
    3. Could you provide the version of Office? You can go to Control panel > Programs > Programs and features > Office and provide the screenshot of it.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Best Regards,

    Sukie
